Catching Up

It's been a week. Almost. Well, a week ago today I was dropped off at SFO and starting this remarkable journey. How strange will it be when I can say, "A month ago today..." or "6 months ago I was just getting on a plane!"

This week feels as though it has gone by so fast, but it must just be the whirlwind of information and meetings we've had these last few days.

So what has happened? We had our orientation, and I still was sick from the flights so it was hard to focus, but I remember the gist of it.

Then we had the weekend to ourselves, and I started my apartment search.

Monday we toured about three million apartments and houses and studios and flats and I panicked.

Tuesday, I found a place to live about the square at Le Hotel de Ville.

And now it's Wednesday and I'm going to figure out what to do with my cellphone and if I can purchase internet for my flat.

There's also been loads of picture taking, outings to restaurants and bars, plenty of French television and a run every morning. Whew!

I've uploaded new pictures to Flickr but I need to get better at taking a camera with me places and also remembering to take pictures of myself!

This weekend we have our welcome dinner and the first group outing to "Le Ciatot", a seaside village and a boat ride through fjords. Also perhaps some swimming in the Mediterranean!
